Tombs will return in November with a new album, Under Sullen Skies, and they’ve just put out its first single, “The Hunger.”

Since my brain has completely run out of fun ways to describe metal lately, I’d like to offer a few quick words on the production of this track, which is absolutely phenomenal. I don’t have any info on who produced or mixed the new Tombs album, but whoever it is has the band sounding the best they ever have on record: the guitars are meaty, the drums clear and punchy, and the bass thick and full-bodied. From that perspective alone, this track is aces all around (thankfully it’s propelled by a catchy af riff, too).

Check out “The Hunger” below along with a video by Jaclyn Sheer. Under Sullen Skies comes out on November 20.
