Iconic screen legend Sean Connery has died at the age of 90.

Connery was perhaps best known for being the original on-screen James Bond in movies like Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldfinger. But unlike many of his successors, he was ultimately able to climb out from under the shadow of that role and create a legacy of other work. Other Connery hits include The Untouchables (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor), Robin and Marian, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Hunt for Red October, and The Rock.

Although Connery obviously wasn’t a metal musician, his 50+ year career in film made him meaningful to a plethora of hard rock and metal musicians. Some of the most prominent of those musicians have now posted online tributes, which you can view below.
